Daya saing didefinisikan sebagai kondisi institusi, kebijakan, dan faktor-faktor yang menentukan tingkat produktivitas ekonomi suatu negara. Produktivitas yang tinggi mencerminkan daya saing yang tinggi, dan daya saing yang tinggi berpotensi memungkinkan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang tinggi pula, dan selanjutnya akan meningkatkan kesejahteraan penduduk. Pada tahun ini, Indonesia menempati posisi ke 46, turun dua tingkat dari tahun sebelumnya. Penurunan peringkat daya saing Indonesia salah satunya dikarenakan pada pilar Kelompok Penopang Efisiensi, Kelompok Inovasi dan Kecanggihan Bisnis. Kelompok ini salah satu pendukungnnya adalah
penggunaan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi.

Buku prosiding "Workshop Internasional Implementasi Desentralisasi Fiskal sebagai Upaya Pemberdayaan Daerah dalam Membiayai Pembangunan Daerah" oleh Orpha Jane, S.Sos, MM, membahas secara mendalam pelaksanaan desentralisasi fiskal di Indonesia sebagai strategi pemberdayaan daerah untuk mendukung pembiayaan pembangunan daerah secara mandiri. Prosiding ini menegaskan bahwa implementasi desentralisasi fiskal merupakan upaya strategis untuk memberdayakan daerah dalam membiayai pembangunan secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan. Penguatan sistem perpajakan daerah, peningkatan kualitas belanja daerah, serta harmonisasi antara pemerintah pusat dan daerah menjadi kunci keberhasilan desentralisasi fiskal dalam mendukung pembangunan daerah yang lebih merata dan efektif. Referensi utama prosiding ini mengacu pada kebijakan dan evaluasi desentralisasi fiskal di Indonesia, termasuk UU No 1 Tahun 2022 dan berbagai studi terkait pelaksanaan desentralisasi fiskal selama dua dekade terakhir.
